An image of Hound Tor, which is one of the Ten Tors, on Dartmoor. Near Hound Tor is an old deserted
medieval village, which was being excavated at the time this image was taken. The tor is surrounded
by flowering yellow and purple plants, which are most likely Gorse and Heather plants. The Tor
consists of granite and its name is said to have derived from the tor resembling a number of dogs
peering over Dartmoor.
Image taken on 21/8/1966.
